On May 7, the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) will host an evening dedicated to the great tradition of the violin sonata, featuring violinist Spasoje Spasojević and pianist Ksenija Božilović. The program brings together two masterpieces of the repertoire: Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 5 in F major, Op. 24 (“Spring”), celebrated for its lyricism and radiant character, and Brahms’ Violin Sonata No. 3 in D minor, Op. 108, a work of remarkable emotional intensity and virtuosity.
Through these contrasting sonatas, the audience will experience the expressive richness and artistic dialogue between violin and piano, from Beethoven’s elegance and warmth to Brahms’ dramatic depth and passion. The concert will also include a special guest appearance by Jana Spasojević.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Cultural Centre of Belgrade and Damjana Negić for their collaboration, trust, and support in the realization of this concert.
