DSCH Concert - Shostakovich

This concert offers an intimate and engaging journey through the life and work of Dmitri Shostakovich, one of the most complex and compelling composers of the 20th century.

Through carefully selected trio and duo arrangements, the program explores Shostakovich’s artistic voice—marked by irony, deep emotional contrasts, and an ongoing dialogue with the political and social realities of his time. The music will be presented alongside spoken insights, anecdotes, and contextual explanations, allowing the audience to experience not only the sound but also the circumstances behind the compositions.

By combining performance, storytelling, and interaction, the concert aims to bring Shostakovich closer to the audience—not as a distant historical figure, but as a living, questioning artist whose music still speaks powerfully today.
